Description
Camel is a brand of cigarettes created by the RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company (RJR) in 1913. It is still owned by RJ Reynolds in the United States, but the international activities are since 1999 the property of the Japan Tobacco company. The brand’s logo represents a dromedary (the English term camel designates either the 2-humped camel or the one-humped camel). The logo inspired the advertising communication carried out from 1987 until 1997 by the firm in the form of a mascot representing a camel nicknamed Joe Camel (or Old Joe)
